YEAR IN REVIEW
I've been thinking I should post something... Anything haha. I find using the website SUPER frustrating so I avoid posting anything on there. This is soooo much easier so I figured while I've got a minute I'll share a few highlights from 2024 and some random thoughts. Why not.
It's funny how as my kids become involved in different activities my photography style and passions change. Right now it's all about grad photos, team photos, "sportraits", football games or volleyball game photos. It's been a challenge but I've really enjoyed it. Part of what I love about these evolutions in my photography journey is that I love watching my kids do something they're passionate about and then being able to capture those moments for them. It's fun to learn new lighting to see what I can create. There's so much to learn to get to where I want to be, but it's coming. I love having a picture in my mind about how I want something to look and then manipulating the lights to achieve it. I'm a very visual and "hands on" learner so I'd love to hit a small workshop where someone can explain how to use the lights and why they're set up a certain way. It's taken me to adulthood to learn that I am a "why" person haha. That would've helped me SO much during school :)
So now that that is done, here are a few of my favorites from the past year. These highlights include:
- my younger daughter winning Gold in U18 Div 2 Provincials for volleyball (and receiving the All Star award)
- that same daughter graduating high school
- my middle son winning Gold in the Western Challenge with Team Alberta for football
- my older son getting married to the sweetest young woman
- my youngest winning the Div 3 Peewee Football Championship
- photographing a ton of amazing athletes and gaining a favorite new genre - "sportraits"
